Health & Wellbeing

- Raising awareness of mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.

- Building strength through engagement, positive relationships and lifestyles, and the opportunity to develop and reach your full potential.

Work in Action engages service users by providing them with support in relaxed comfortable and non-judgemental settings.

We place great emphasis on supporting individuals by getting to the heart of the issue, whether directly, or via our supportive networks in a way that builds strength, doesn’t stigmatize, and ultimately improves the individual’s chances of employability.

The emotional and physical wellbeing of vulnerable groups can impact their ability to engage in the right way.  Our aim is to demystify and simplify the approach to the service provision we provide.  Whilst we do not operate within a clinical environment we do understand that individuals may come to us with multi barriers preventing them from gaining employment.  We aim to address these barriers in engaging environments that best meet the needs of each service user.

Our person-centred approach recognises that individuals may be facing multiple challenges in their lives that often overlap.  Working with our partners and other agencies we aim to ensure that each individual receives the additional support needed, whether this be housing, mental health, or substance addiction.  Our aim is to build confidence and strength through positive engagement, healthy relationships, and provide opportunity in the fullest sense in order to fully develop the individual’s potential.

Building Confidence For The Future

- Confidence and Motivation Building.

All of our projects include elements of this module depending upon the circumstances of the individual or group concerned. Where individuals have been unemployed for long periods it is likely that their general confidence levels will have dropped. Equally, where people have been homeless, or have suffered from other issues or addictions, it is likely that they may also suffer from a lack of motivation.  Along with other measures, our motivational sessions will be part of a package to get them back on the road towards employability and independent living.

In all cases, individuals will get the opportunity to build up their confidence levels, set new short and long term goals in all areas of their lives and identify strengths and weaknesses. Where individuals have been homeless and have additional barriers to overcome, we aim to provide the extra support needed working with our network of partners and agencies.  And we will continue to support them through their journey, building self-esteem and overcoming difficulties or personal barriers as they build towards a better future.

Substance Addiction

Where individuals are struggling with substance addiction this can often indicate other problems in their lives.  Work in Action aim to provide effective and targeted services where all areas of the individual’s life style are assessed.  Our approach aims to put the service user at the forefront of our programmes so that any underlying issues are fully understood and addressed in order to ensure individuals have the best possible opportunity to change their lives for the better.

Our Multi-disciplinary approach

Our approach to substance addiction or mental health is multi-disciplinary.  We work in partnership with a range of agencies including the CMHT, local hospitals, and other agencies, operating jointly in order to support individuals who have mental health and/or substance addiction.  This means that our teams operate in the most effective way possible to ensure the best possible outcomes for our service users.

Flexible yet tailored services fitting in with the lives and needs of ordinary people.

Work in Action aims to be as flexible as possible regarding the delivery of its services.  We want to ensure that our offer is broad enough to capture as many people in need as possible, whilst also being flexible enough to incorporate the needs of each individual. Our personalised care package ensures that each service user is given both an individual assessment of their needs and an action plan to ensure that they are offered the right programme and development package for their needs.   All of our services are integrated and adaptable so that the individual has the opportunity to take advantage and benefit from as many of these as possible.

We pride ourselves on the relationships built between our staff and our service users, always ensuring that individuals are at the heart of everything we do.  We encourage positive user feedback in order to ensure we deliver the best possible service to all of our clients.
