"NEVER CURB YOUR AMBITION"

Our Aims & Ambitions
Our Aims & Ambitions
Our aim is to provide vulnerable unemployed people with genuine support in all areas and an holistic package in order that they can take control and transform their lives. We want to support a wide range of people of all ages; from those who need a brief intervention to those who have been unemployed for longer periods of time and need more intensive support to achieve success. We aim to design & deliver services that have a genuine impact on the lives of every service user.
Our work-an overview
Work in Action employment programmes are fully supportive of individuals who have faced multiple barriers to work, who may be vulnerable, or who face barriers once they are in the working or training environment.
Our programmes fully support both the employer and the employee by working closely with employers to ascertain exactly what it is the employer needs during the recruitment process, whilst also providing support and training for the employee. This support is maintained throughout the process and after the employee has been in work for up to 6 months.

How it works in action
Work in Action provides work experience and training with a variety of well-known employers in retail, customer service, administration, manufacturing, warehousing, and others.
We offer advice and guidance to help individuals get into (or back into) work. • 1-2-1 mentoring with our trained personal advisors and support from business experts
• Confidence building
• CV & Cover letter writing preparation
• Interview technique preparation & mock interviews (both panel & one-to-one)
• Group assessment work shops
• In-work support and guidance
• Pre-employability training courses
• Work experience and work trials
• Social media upskilling/training
• Signposting to support services

What our workshops cover:
Our workshops cover a variety of topics dependent upon the need of the group. Our group assessment workshops for example, involve problem solving and team building exercises as well as communication skills. Whilst our confidence building workshops look at ways to build up levels of confidence, goal setting, identifying barriers, finding solutions, & motivating the individual. Our interview workshops may include 1-2-1 sessions or group sessions to cover panel interviews &/or presentations. We also invite employers in regularly in order for individuals to gain insight into what employers are actually looking for. When we feel you are ready (and youfeel you are ready) we will link in with our network of suitable employers and match you up and take it from there, supporting both you and the employer throughout the journey.
We also have specialist workshops around money management, covering areas such as effective budgeting, staying on top of bills, & managing debt etc.

Supporting our network of employers
What we offer
 Work in Action understands that a key part of employer recruitment is identifying the right individual in the first place. Our programmes work with individuals, build them up with the appropriate skills to ensure readiness for work, provides a wrap-around & on-going support service, & includes soft skills such as how to get on in the work place, the importance of good attendance, and good time keeping. We also provide continued support to the individual and the employer for up to 6 months once employed.
 We understand the difficulties involved in the recruitment process where employers may be looking to hire people often with a range of skill sets and levels of experience for a single position. We aim to take away much of that burden from employers in order that they can focus their energies where they are most needed, namely, running a successful business.
Hence, employers will receive:
 Pre-screened and prepared candidates for the roles in question
 Advice and support on how to recruit individuals who have faced barriers to work
 Receive support for any of our clients recruited by them, & where needed employees will receive additional training to support their recruitment..
 On-going in-work support for our recruited candidates for up to 6months.
We aim to build sound relationships with our broad network of employers who will be under no pressure to recruit from any of our programmes. Work in Action however, aims to be as supportive as possible throughout this process and will look to accommodate wherever we can.
